066 We can only know motion through the law of comparison, which is actually the law of contact, or the relationship between one phase of expression and another. When we touch an object with our fingers, we receive an impression of that object because of the pressure created through the contact of a lesser with a greater vibration. Likewise, we receive visual impressions or auditory impressions through the contact of light or sound vibrations with the retina of the eye or the ear drum. We are made aware of atmospheric conditions and temperature changes through the contact of atmospheric cells with the cells of our body. All of this proves that touch is merely the nerve reaction to contact.
