169 Each atom making up the cells of the body possesses within itself the element of feeling-which is consciousness. Consequently, it is quite possible for the cells of one form, to convey the state of their activity to the cells of another form. When the cells of one body are impressed with vibrations from the cells of another body, the impulse is created in the nerve plasm and immediately carried through the afferent nerves to the brain, where it is decoded into a conscious thought. It may be difficult to accept the idea of cells as little conscious entities, capable of receiving and passing on vibratory impressions, or of forming their own messages; but experiments which have taken place in our laboratories have proved conclusively that all substance is possessed of consciousness.
169　肉体の細胞を構成する各原子はそれ自身の内部に意識であるフィーリングの要素を所有しています。したがって一つの形あるもの（訳注：肉体）の細胞群が他の形あるものに自らの活動の状況を伝えるというのは全くのところ、起こり得るのです。ある肉体の細胞群が他の肉体の細胞から来る振動を感受すると、神経の原形質に衝動が発生し、直ちに中枢神経を通じて脳に伝わり、そこで意識できる想念に解読されます。細胞が小さな意識ある実体で、振動による印象を受信し、転送する、あるいは自身のメッセージを作り出すとする概念は受け入れることが難しいかも知れません。しかし、私達の実験室で行われた実験では、あらゆる物質は意識を持つことを決定的に明らかにしているのです。



【解説】
　あらゆる物体と印象を通じて話すことが出来るということです。極微小な存在である原子が、その状況を印象として発し、誰でもそれらの印象を感受でき、それとコミュニケーション出来ると本項は説いています。
　おそらくこれまでこのことを正面きって言及した人物は他に居ないように思われます。これまでは何か神秘的な存在や超能力として、これら印象やインスピレーション問題について取り扱われて来たように思うからです。
　しかし、万物に生命があり、万象を同胞（はらから）と認識するルーツは日本神道その他、太古からの教えに多く散見されるものです。ネイティブインディアンの文化のその一つです。森羅万象あらゆるものと一体になれる心境はこうした原子レベルの印象の交流から生まれると言って良いでしょう。
